康裕成的父親高齡九十，曾任台電區處主管。康裕成從小在台電宿舍長大。莫蘭蒂造成高雄市四十六萬戶停電，台電雖派出數百人搶修，仍有居民不滿復電速度抗議，讓康裕成感觸很深。
她表示，小時每次颱風來，她就知道爸爸要冒生命危險忙到復電，才能喘一口氣，父親回家時總會跟媽媽說誰摔了、誰被電到誰死了。
那些死傷的大哥哥們，她多半認識，所以一到颱風天，她總是擔心又憂傷，還曾經夢到某大哥哥交代後事，嚇得她好久都不敢獨處。對這次颱風復電，她請大家不要抗議；她要向台電人員說一聲「辛苦了！」
前內政部長余政憲也留言，「台電工作人員犧牲中秋佳節與家人團聚，全力搶修，辛苦了。台電加油！」
台電高雄區處長林錫儀說，曾目睹同事搶修觸電倒下，全身焦黑，這一幕至今揮之不去。
他表示，不少山區電桿被吹斷，無法用機具送上去，台電人員及廠商只得把電桿扛上去。
